To the users of pegasus and other Sun systems:

There has been an extended outage of pegasus due to a hardware malfunction. We have moved logins to the Sun network to freddie.montclair.edu. However, you will only be able to reach that machine by using SSH to connect to pegasus.montclair.edu. You can not use SSH to connect directly to freddie.montclair.edu.

So, don't be alarmed that your prompt says "freddie" instead of "pegasus". You should still be able to reach your home directory, use the same programs, etc.

There are a few changes with email. Email addressed to user@pegasus are now handled by a dedicated mail server. You will need to use a POP or IMAP client to access your mail. We will also update the "pine" mail client so that it works with the new mail server.
